In Hollywood early Monday morning, a drug deal gone bad ended with one man in a car shot and killed in a parking lot. There were gunshots reported at 12:50 a.m. near Gordon Street on the 5900 block of Sunset Boulevard.
A man with gunshot wounds to his chest was found in a parked car by Los Angeles police. At the scene, he was pronounced dead. The victim had not been identified yet. According to the description, he was in his 30s.
An argument between the suspect and the victim led to the shooting when they were involved in a drug deal. During a search of the area, police said the suspect was described as a 30-year-old Black man.
It is believed that the shooting had nothing to do with gang activity. For several hours, Sunset Boulevard was closed between Bronson Avenue and Gordon Street, but now it is open again.
